Farming in Ranch Simulator is one of the many ways of making income.

In this guide, you will learn everything you need to know about Crops that grow on Fields for optimal income.

If you're looking for a guide on Greenhouses and Crops you can grow inside them, check our Guide on Gardening instead.

Tutorial

There are 3 Plots you can grow your crops on on the base game map:

To start farming, purchase the following:

• A Tractor and a Harvester from the Car Shop.

Go to Hardware Store and purchase:

• A Cultivator to prepare the plot
• A Seeder to plant the seeds
• A Harvest Trailer to store your grains
• A Header for the Harvester.

The Cultivator, Seeder and Harvest Trailer can only be attached to a Tractor.
The Header can only be attached to the Harvester.

There are 3 Headers for the Harvester, one for each crop you can plant.

Buy them one by one to not have them glitch with each other and take them back to your ranch.

Go to the General Store to buy the Seed Bags.
The 3 Crops you can plant are: Wheat, Corn and Sunflower.

Use the Tractor to attach the Cultivator by pressing "C", get in position in front of a Plot, press "Left Mouse Button" to lower the Cultivator and start turning the land.

Once full, park beside your Trailer, press the "Right Mouse Button" to get the tube out and empty the Harvester into the trailer.

Note: There is a bug that makes the harvester stop emptying the grains if you get out of it even though it doesn't look like it (check trailer), so stay inside.

Take the Trailer to any store to sell the yield (Best Burger, the Hardware Store or the General Store).

Fertilizer

The Fertilizer is not necessary for the plants to grow; it is just used to speed up the growth time of your crops.

There are 2 ways to acquire it:

1- Buy it from the General Store (Costs $100).
2- Make it using the Composter that you buy from the General Store (Costs $250).

The make a Fertilizer, use the Composter to pick up your livestock feces and it will start making it over time.

To use a fertilizer on your crops, buy the Fertilizer Trailer from the Hardware Store, fill it with Fertilizer (bought or made), press the "Left Mouse Button" to activate it and use it where you planted the seeds.

Field Crops Growth

• Plants on fields grow during daytime and nighttime, but the time in the night will only count if you don't sleep.

• Plants growth time is in real time; it doesn't matter what in-game time you have set in your game settings.

Crops Growth Time, Yield and Prices

Here are the crops, their prices, how much you can harvest after planting 1 bag of seeds and how much time they take to grow:

Best Crop

By looking at the table above, we can see that Sunflowers grow the fastest and make the most amount of money.

Income

The income you can make farming depends on how many seeds you plant.

By planting 1 Sunflower Seeds Bag, you can harvest 90 Units which is sold for $720, minus the $200 for the seeds bag, that would make you $520 in 70 minutes.

You can plant 5 Seeds Bags on the 3 Plots that you own, that will make you 450 Units of Sunflower which is $3600, minus the $1000 for the seeds bags, that's $2600 in 70 minutes after planting the seeds.

Farming require a lot of money and effort to start, if you're looking to make money starting up, Honey Production and Oil Extraction are definitely better ways.

Achievements

Experienced Farmer

To earn the "Experienced Farmer" Achievement, you just need to buy a Tractor and a Harvester.

First Harvest

To earn the "First Harvest" Achievement, you need to fill your Harvest Trailer to the max (250 Units).

Each Seed Bag planted has a yield of 90 Units after harvest, so, you will need to plant 3 Seeds Bags of any crop to fill your trailer.
